News n.5 - Winter 2003/2004Dear friendsWinter has come, bringing with it 153 days of great snow, spectacular ski slopes, fresh air and relaxing scenery. The lifts are scheduled to open on November 29, and thanks to planned snow it will possible to ski even if natural snow is scarce. The fun will continue until May 1, after the season-ending concert on April 25 up at 2,400 meters outside the Mottolino restaurant. That's a ski season of more than five months, with new lifts and new runs that include a challenging expert slope dedicated to champion Giorgio Rocca. And the calendar of activities organized specially by Lungolivigno is just as long, running from the first week of December until the end of April. There's Art in Ice, now in its eighth year, that attracts an increasing number of spectators each year to see the ten teams of artists take on huge blocks of snow with rasps, barbedwire saws, pickaxes and the like. People also come for a chance to learn about working with ice and snow during lessons at the Art in Ice Academy. Lungolivigno has also got other great news, such as the total renovation of our stores Natura e... and Renna Sport, where Prada and Fendi are the new arrivals - the only place these names are in sold in the central Alps outside of St. Moritz. That's just for starters. Other developments include the convenient new garage where Hotel Lac Salin guests can park out of the snow - the first step in a renovation project slated for launch in the coming months. The hotel will be more comfortable and functional, with a new and expanded wellness center, bigger rooms and refurbished common areas. It's just another move along the path we have chosen, to help you have a very special winter. |
